ITEM PHOTOS: Every effort has been made to make the photos as close to real life as possible. My monitor is calibrated, as is yours, but they can vary and sometimes photos appear a little lighter than actual life. When you open your package you will be pleasantly surprised at how deep and vibrant the gemstones are. Please check item descriptions for actual sizes. I know it can be hard to buy jewelry without holding it in your hands and trying it on first so I guarantee everything you purchase from me and will refund your money if you aren't completely happy.

PACKAGING / GIFT WRAP: All jewelry is carefully packaged in custom gift boxes made from recycled material and are suitable for gift giving. If you need the box gift-wrapped in paper for Christmas, Hanukkah or a birthday, please let me know and I'll do that for you too!

CUSTOMIZING DESIGNS: Yes, I can customize most of the designs I make. I shorten or lengthen many designs. The price for this is determined by the materials used and work involved. If you see a pair of hairsticks or other jewelry in sterling silver but prefer vermeil (or vice versa), I can do that too. Send me an email with any questions about customizing a piece.

PRIVATE COMMISSIONS: I create custom designs all the time and would be happy to do the same for you. Please email or call me with your ideas. I’ll explain the process to you and we can move forward from there. If you are looking for a bridal suite for yourself and your bridal party, please plan this in advance by several weeks.

Why did you change your name from The Maiden’s Treasures to Barefoot Maiden?
When I chose my company name, The Maiden’s Treasures, I thought it was very original. After all, wasn’t I the only maiden in the entire world with treasures to peddle? I later noticed many people had treasures to sell and my name didn’t feel so original anymore. I lay in bed night after night trying to think of a new name, staring at my great big bare feet and...

...I do have big feet but I don’t spend a lot of time staring at them. I wanted to keep the “Maiden” but my mind was drawing a blank. I was about to give up and go with something completely different when I came across an old painting in a book of a goddess in the forest surrounded by wild animals. She appeared to be barefoot. That was it! Barefoot Maiden.

My print media is on recycled paper. Scraps of sterling silver are saved, melted down and drawn into new wire. I only buy biodegradable packaging “popcorn.” I think this stuff is actually made from some kind of corn by-product. Don’t leave it laying around, your pets will eat it (my dog tried to). It didn’t hurt her, but it doesn’t seem like a good thing for a dog or cat to be snacking on. If you receive bubble wrap or old-fashioned popcorn in your shipping box it’s because someone else sent it to me and I’m recycling it by using it again. I reuse shipping boxes if they are in good shape. I also ride a horse to the post office - just kidding!
